Indie Game Challenge Winner - Lazy 8 Studios

At this years Independent Game Challenge, Lazy 8 Studios walked away with a $100,000.00 check for their game Cogs. Believe it or not, Cogs is a modern take on the slider puzzle. Imagine a rubiks cube with a Steampunk design, the ability to slide the colors around the cube, and a slick presentation to sew it all together. Got it? I didn't think so. Here's the official trailer, with a description and link to the demo after the break. Make sure you check out the demo, it's got 8 playable stages!

Crystals of Xaz Pre-Alpha (Encounter Zone)

As the Dreamcast community began to dwindle, and the PSP became the forerunner of homebrew development, a friend of a friend of a cousin's nephew that went by the name of Atari` released the pre-alpha for his "shooter". The game was never finished, but we were given the opportunity to host the game and distribute it to those interested. Read more after the break.

Help Shape Gamecootie

Dear Reader,

We here at Gamecootie are constantly looking to expand the functionality of the site (mainly because it's impossible to shrink it). Today, the topic of forums. As many of you know, we used to be strictly forum based. Our current setup allows for conversations regarding a topic posted to the frontpage by our staff, but what about the conversations YOU want to see?

So, help us out. Tell us what categories you would like to see in a forum. Console specific? Classic gaming separated from modern gaming? Dedicated portions to Linux, Windows, and Mac? Whatever you think, let us know in the comments. We can make it happen.

AT&T, How I Loathe Thee.

Man, ATT is pushing really hard.
I don't know if they are losing a ton of customers or what, but I can't do anything without ATT letting me know they have more voice coverage than anyone else on the planet.

6 Reasons Why I Made The Right Decision With AT&T

Dead or Alive : Paradise

So maybe you heard about this game for the PSP called Dead or Alive: Paradise. In case you haven't here's a run down of the basice premise. Girls with fantastic bodies dress into bathing suits, show their ample and stunning breasts, and let you take a picture of them. Mmmm.

Featuring all the DEAD OR ALIVE lovelies, basking in the tropical sun of ‘New Zack Island’ you will be able to mingle, flirt, play, take snapshots, and challenge the girls in various mini-games found throughout your private island in the best looking PSP game yet. In case you don't believe it, just look at the picture to the right. Yeah, that's the best looking I've seen anything on the PSP.

Since static images are so 1993, you might be wondering what you can do with these ladies. You will be able to indulge in beach volleyball, pool hopping, as well as visiting the revamped casino resort run by the enigmatic ‘Rio’. Who is Rio? Not sure. Let me check on that and get back with you by the end of this entry. With an exhaustive shopping option as well, spend your hard-earned ZACK currency on hundreds of cool items, from clothes to gadgets then keep them for yourself or give them as gifts to your new girlfriends. The more gifts you give, the stronger your bond with them will grow. Protip: This works in real life also.

You can also snap 'candid' photos of the girls. Have them all sitting around, giggling, in their bikini's, and forward all the results to me. Aha! Rio is a recurring character in Tecmo games. She's a top heavy (SURPRISE!) Blackjack dealer here, but has also been host to other gambling locales in other games.

360....Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2...Then Again Maybe Not?

So me and video games go back a long way dating back to my 3rd birthday when my parents got me a shiny, brand new Sega Genesis w/Sonic the Hedgehog. My interest in video games probably topped out between ages 14-17 when I got really into collecting older systems and games. Around 17 when I got my car, my money was going to OPEC instead of further building my collection. About 3 months ago, I got the bug to get myself a 360 and get back on xbox live. For the past month, I've had a pretty bad addiction to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2...

So I hear you love the LEGO games. Sure you do. We do too! Maybe LEGO Indiana Jones was sub-par compared to LEGO Star Wars, but that's what happens when you're popular. Do you really think LEGO Rock Band is going to be stellar? Sure you do. You love LEGO!

Look 'Ma, I'm Bloggin'!

Well well, looky here. A place I can unleash and scare the living daylights out of those who know me. In a time when micro-blogging and text messages are dominating the technological crowd, I make an unprecedented move and travel in reverse. I spit in the eye of adversity. I.... really don't have anything to say. Test.

edit: Hey, look! Blog posts now appear on the frontpage. Sweeeeeeet!
